I'd Like to Improve...

Edutopia.com posted this prompt above a few weeks ago, and it has been on my mind every since. What is the ONE thing you would improve in your classroom or your school?

Usually for me, it could be the way the tables are set up in my room. Maybe I could have reworded the Do Now a little differently. Should I have used a different piece of technology to help my students better understand the main idea of the lesson? These types of things cross my mind every day.

As an educator, I feel like that's the question I ask myself every day when I walk into my classroom, and then again at the end of the day when I reflect on the lessons for that day. It doesn't have to be a major change or improvement but it's always in the back of my mind... What would I improve? What would my students improve? How can I change this for next year?

No matter how well a lesson goes, I always feel there is something that I should have done a little differently. If you don't reflect on your lessons and your teaching, you really should take a few minutes each day to do so. You may drive yourself crazy thinking about everything, but in the end, I promise you that you will feel better about the things that you are doing in your school and classroom.
